Buckingham sentenced to eighteen years for murder in Frederick case
William H. Buckingham, 67, of Carroll County, was found guilty of murder in the second degree by a Frederick County jury after 22 hours of deliberation. Judge Urner imposed a maximum 18 year term in the penitentiary with Woodward to join later for the formal sentencing. Buckingham killed his wife Elizabeth Cagh Buckingham on the morning of June 20. The defense stated they would consult Westminster counsel about an appeal or a new trial.
