Partial Sinai Withdrawal By Israel Planned
UNITED NATIONS New York December 1 Dag Hammarskjold announced Israel plans a partial withdrawal from the Sinai Peninsula by January 10 with no fixed date for full troop withdrawal. He noted two phase withdrawal, urged a new schedule, and reported pressure against minorities in Egypt including British and French nationals and Jews. The U N chief and U S Ambassador emphasized safeguarding human rights amid regional tensions.

City Budget Decreases Amid Tax and Water Fund Shifts
Frederick City faces a net budget reduction of 22 dollars in total expenditures from the 1956 to the 1957 budget despite a rise of 4 906.21 in the general fund and a 27 000 drop in the water and sewer fund. The 1957 plan shows 1 025 571 for general fund and 238 000 for water and sewer, with total city expenditures down from 1 285 664.79 in 1956 to 1 263 571 in 1957.
