Sheriff and deputy survive boat oxygen scare near Cobb Island
La Plata reports Sheriff Elmer Guade of Charles County and Deputy Bruce Shymansky fainted aboard their 26 foot boat while returning from Point Lookout. Oxygen ran out due to a blocked stove in the cabin as the vessel neared Neal Sound. Shymansky regained consciousness with help from two men and steered toward the Cobb Island dock.
