Decline In Farm Population Predicted By County Survey
A Frederick County planning report forecasts a 40.9 percent population increase by 1980 driven by unincorporated areas, with farm population leveling off near 7,000 as development spreads from Frederick and surrounding towns. The study notes a shift toward skilled occupations, fewer farms, and growth around Frederick and Thurmont expected to house most future residents.
