Public Carol Service Held in Frederick Church Tower
A December 21 1946 Frederick News account describes a public carol service led by a brass octet from the high school band sung from the Independent Hose Company tower. Rev Mr Weaver gave benediction, and an audience of about 2200 to 2500 Fredericktonians joined in Christmas carols at venues across town. It notes postponement of St John’s High School group and details the event sequence, participants, and local reactions, with streets iced and festive lighting enhancing the city’s Christmas spirit.
