City of Hamburg Sinks After Collision in North Sea

The United States liner City of Hamburg, owned by the Baltimore Mail Line, was sinking after a collision 10 miles east of Terschelling in the North Sea. About 75 crew and up to five passengers were aboard, with the ship reporting clearance from Bremen at 2 am. Captain Joseph Lee was in command. The vessel, built in California and reconditioned in 1931, was noted as the fastest in the Mail Line fleet.

Milk Truck Case Set For Trial Jan 24
