Postmaster Irving reports no Xmas mail backlog and announces city delivery on Monday with two extra clerks and three additional carriers. Two trucks will handle parcel post. rural delivery resumes and office hours extend to noon. Big holiday volume driven by Christmas rush and heightened activity at the Frederick office.
Mexico City dispatch reports Col Charles A. Lindbergh honored by Mexican Boy Scouts with Knight of the Order of the Lion Eagle and Tiger, the three highest degrees of Tribes de Explora. The ceremony occurred at the Americas Embassy as Lindbergh nears the capital with his mother en route from Detroit. Mrs Lindbergh expected to arrive tomorrow aboard a trimotor monoplane.
Mrs Margaret Likendsh and Willis Beach convicted of killing Dr A William Limiter begin ten year sentences after two hour drive to Trenton. Sheriffs accompany the pair in a closed car with calm conversation noted during the transfer. A separate report states police in Serlingdee Mo locate a 23544 diamond in a suspect’s stomach using X ray after a burglary.
The Rotary Club held its Christmas meeting at the Francis Scott Key hotel in the afternoon. Mrs Joseph T Pries led carols while R Ames Hendrickson conducted a questionnaire. Decorations included a large Christmas tree and wreaths with red and green candles.
A skiff overturned near Boston Alabama on December 2 drowning four men including Jim Nichols a bell operator and three negroes. The boat was carrying pine logs when it capsized after striking a submerged object. Rescue attempts were hindered by rough water and darkness.

From an overheated grain drier the Stickell elevator at Hagerstown burned early today destroying the grain elevator and 23 000 bushels of wheat. Loss estimated between 3040 and 40000 with full insurance. Firemen from the entire department battled the blaze. A carload of sunflower seed on the railroad siding also burned. Los Angeles police disclosed two witnesses saw William Edward Hickman and a companion carrying bundles from Bellevue Arms Apartments two hours before a staged car theft delivered Marian Parker to her father. Robbers forced a rear entrance at a Doubs store and stole Christmas gifts including several personal items. Loot valued around 200 dollars, with a Ford coupe seen nearby about midnight. Police were alerted as staff opened the shop around 8 am. the case is under investigation.
