Epistle on Episcopal Heresy Controversy Sparks Church Split Talk
An extended account discusses liberal and fundamentalist clashes in the Protestant Episcopal Church centered on Rev. Heaton of Fort Worth Texas facing a heresy trial. The piece links the dispute to biblical literalism and evolution and recalls historic penalties for heresy. It notes prominent liberal critics, calls for doctrinal purity, and cites past executions for heresy in Christian history.
