Allies Withdraw from Gallipoli Peninsula Reported
London December 21 Allied troops are being withdrawn from the Gallipoli peninsula with official word that forces on the Anzac and Suvla Bay fronts will be sent elsewhere. Some units may go to the Balkans or Egypt, potentially freeing about 250000 Turkish troops for other action. The Anzac area has seen some of the fiercest fighting of the Dardanelles campaign.
