The funeral for Mr G F Zimmer man was held at his residence corner Market and Fourth streets on Saturday at 2 o clock. Rev Dr David J Beate officiated. Pallbearers included Prof CGW Eny Major Samuel Brown George W Dean WM J Worman John W Davideen G Waring Tynon. Interment followed at Mt Olive cemetery. Rice & Sona were the funeral directors.
Base Ball Mr. Thomas Gittinger, the well known baseball player of wiselty, received a letter the owner day from the new managers of the Grand Rapids base ball team asking for his terms for the coming season. Mr. Gittinger did work for the Grand Rapids Club and his friends in that city are apologs to have him reior a next uamer. He is known out there as Uncle Ton.
The Dughiest ravsi drama Old Farmer Hopkins will be produced here on Wednesday evening by Frack and Davidson with a strong company. Special scenery and spectacles of high order promise an entertaining show. In other news Dr William Baltzeil offered a reward for a lost black casich Up boa which was returned. The Woman's College closed for holidays and will reopen January.
Mrs. Kimes, formerly of Frederick and later Washington DC, killed herself after a tumultuous marriage to S. Kimes. Her estranged husband had fought for alimony and child custody through courts. The woman suffered poor health and homelessness, and was found with a small revolver in her pocket.
Mrs Laura J Hitselberger of Baltimore discovers a 1759 Pennsylvania note for 35 shillings with a tobacco leaf image, plus a 1771 George III issue on the reverse, both well preserved. Also found are a 1809 California gold dollar and Confederate notes. Несмотря на коллапс, хроника доносит на старину.
