Grand jury member faces drug charges

Former Emmitsburg pastor dies at 77 in Fairfield
The Rev. John Calvin Chaties Jr. formerly led Incarnation United Church of Christ in Emmitsburg and served as a chaplain at Montevue and Citizens Nursing Homes. Born May 5 1919 in Cumberland he was part of the Lions Club and the Emmitsburg Council of Churches. He died December 18 at his Fairfield Pennsylvania residence, after celebrating his 40th wedding anniversary with his wife Shelia Ruth Jones Chaties. Continued on Page A-4.
