Smiths to head local and national builder associations
David C Smith, former Frederick County Builders Association president and president-elect of the National Association of Home Builders, installed his son Gary as president of the local group. The elder Smith will become national president in January, with Gary focusing on training, apprenticeship, and legislative issues in Annapolis. The 252 member local and 137,000 member national groups project 16 million starts in 1986 and a new research center for building technology.
