Carroll planners OK third draft of Mount Airy master plan
WESTMINSTER The Carroll County Planning and Zoning Commission approved the third draft of Mount Airy and environs master plan and will file it with the county commissioners for approval. A public hearing with the Mount Airy mayor and town council is expected in late January. The plan covers land use public services and facilities population projections and future needs with maps and tables. The commission also reviewed agency comments and addressed concerns about grandfathering already approved lots that may not fit new zoning. The staff recommended grandfathering given the small number of sub 40 000 square foot lots and minimal impact on plan goals.
