Magistrate Byron Thompson, Friday morning, gave a young motorist a break. Michael Albert Locke, 16, Middletown, was found not guilty of operating a vehicle with inadequate brakes after a two car collision. Locke testified the brake failure occurred as he approached a red light. He said he had never driven the car before and did not know the brakes were faulty. Police officer Charles Cashour testified there was no speed evidence and the teens acted cooperatively. The magistrate noted the brakes gave out suddenly, entitling Locke to doubt of liability.
