He noted temporary parcel post quarters aiding operations and predicted possible busier days ahead as Christmas shoppers filled stores amid dense fog and a cold snap.
British engineers unveil a five jet vertical takeoff craft the SC in Belfast with trials and minimal publicity. A contract for extending roads and parking at Fort Detrick has been awarded to Rockville Construction Company for 153 650 dollars. The project covers about a mile of roads in Area A and nearby parking areas. work has not yet begun.

Funeral services will be held Thursday for Frank T. Wallace editor of the Daily Record and company president. Wallace died after a five month illness at his daughter's home in White Marsh, Baltimore County. He was 67, native to Baltimore, joined the Daily Record in 1904, and rose to editor in 1923, general manager in 1926 and president in 1952. He is survived by his widow, three daughters, ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A second item notes a woman shot to death in Alexandria, husband Cecil Taylor wounded, police found him with a self-inflicted wound after the attack.
A 17 year old from San Francisco, with a male companion, escaped Napa State Hospital after fleeing amid claims he and Cla Ann Mowatt Weigoner were married in Montana. The youths, armed and dangerous, abducted Cla Ann from her parents home before police recaptured them. proceedings to void the marriage were started.
