Youthful Robbers Nominated for Parole in 1919 Bank Heist
Walter Winehart of Baltimore and Norman Ogle near Walkersville were recommended for parole by Patrol Commissioner Edward M. Parrish after years in Maryland Penitentiary for the Walkersville Bank robbery. Both men, 22 and 23 at the time, had good records and would likely have been released earlier for good behavior. The 1919 crime involved revolvers, a large cash haul, and a high‑profile manhunt before their capture and recovery of the money.
