Truncated Telegraphic Grain and Goods Prices Report
A fragment from The News by Geo. Le Cramer and Frederick Kierator lists assorted commodity prices in vague terms. Flour and meal per barrel, per hundred pounds, lard and beef terms, potatoes and timber notes, live weight meat, cotton and wool entries appear with unclear units and values, reflecting a late 19th or early 20th century price sheet. The garbled OCR yields inconsistent spellings and item names, but the core items cover flour, meal, lard, beef, potatoes, timber, cotton, and wool products with unit descriptors.
Historical Society Opens Season in Frederick County
The Historical Society of Frederick County held its first meeting of the season on December's second Thursday. Officers elected include President John A. Lynch and Vice President William T. Wonton, with Mrs Anne Grahame Ross and others on the executive committee. A paper by Mrs Ross traced Carroll Manor history and the Warrell family, noting property lineage and notes on Tuscarora farm. The event featured portraits tied to Washington and Jefferson, possibly by Charles Peale Polk, and adjourned after a reception.
