Planned reuse of vacant West Patrick site eyed for garage and offices
Planner Richard Griffin notes the long market presence of a roughly 1 500 square foot property fronting West Patrick with an alley at the rear. The two story duplex and rear garage were converted to a shop and office, with the garage forming a large accessory structure not suitable for pure storage use. Development funds are cited to move the project forward, highlighting the site’s potential as an excellent reuse of vacant commercial space despite parking concerns.

Theatre center faces 75 cent ticket hike plan
At a December workshop officials floated a 75 cent increase to operate the center as an enterprise fund similar to the golf course and utilities. The move aims to cover a 43,626 box office deficit but drew criticism from local theater groups who say they were not consulted and fear impacts on their operations. David Conrad, a freelance drummer who has performed at the center, condemned the proposal as devastating. The item was to be added to a consent agenda.
