Wollemi Pine Seedling Sparks Jurassic Park Silence
Australian horticulturists at Mount Annan Botanic Garden report one of forty recovered Wollemi Pine seeds has sprouted. The discovery follows secret seed propagation efforts from the prehistoric grove found in Wollemi National Park, about 125 miles west of Sydney. The rare trees, up to 130 feet tall with waxy foliage and distinctive bark, remain extremely limited in number and location.
