Damascus Community Christmas and Local Church Activities
Damascus hosts a 15th annual Christmastime doorway decoration contest with prizes based on originality and beauty. Lions Club dinner invites winners on January 2. Damascus Elementary PTA meets December 18 to discuss social sciences in Montgomery County Schools and features a fifth grade chorus under Almario and Zahniser. Various church choirs perform Christmas programs and a congregational meeting follows a later service. Community clubs plan Christmas parties, Scout and Pack events, and service projects at local venues.
