Redskins Dismantle Bears in Lopsided Gridiron Triumph
In a December clash at Griffith Stadium the Washington Redskins upset the previously undefeated Chicago Bears 28 to 8 before a sell-out 36,008 crowd. Sammy Baugh directed the offense with precise passes and Andy Farkas ran for nine carries while strong line play by Wilken, Farman, Aldrich, Slivinski, and Young opened holes. The Bears, who had rolled over 24 straight opponents, were held to eight rushing yards as Washington seized control from early in the second quarter and never relinquished it.
