Bartlett warned after carcass pile found on Buckeystown property

Plan to privatize Frederick County ECDC proposed

A coalition of local businessmen and leaders unveiled a plan to convert the Economic and Community Development Commission into a private entity named the Economic Development Commission. Commissioners appoint Haas to library board

Frederick County Commissioners selected the Rev. Theodore Haas to fill the vacant library board seat left by Grace Athey. Brunswick tavern shut down over drug activity

Frederick County Liquor License Commission unanimously revoked the Class B license of The Com muter Lounge, the county’s only beer wine and liquor tavern, after a five hour hearing. The bar, raided two months earlier by the Narcotics Task Force, was described as a haven for illicit drug activity. Gary S. Bury and John W. Lewis held the license.

Windsor Knolls students dismantle home electronics for electricity lessons

Eighth graders at Windsor Knolls Middle School used screwdrivers to disassemble VCRs hair dryers tape recorders and other appliances. Under science teacher Bernard Buckley they linked the activity to Earth science lessons showing circuits motors and how electricity is produced while students like Benjamin Trawick and Ann Stratton explored a dot matrix printer and debated components with guidance from their instructor.
