Girl Killed In Accident Involving Teen Drivers
A sixteen year old girl, Nelen Lawrence of Indian Springs Road, died after a two car crash on U.S. 404 at 11 p.m. An MGS driven by Julie Ann Stoner, 17, of RFD 1, sped east and skidded, striking a Chevrolet driven by Terry Eugene Poffinberger, 19, of RFD 1, Middle town. Stoner, Poffinberger, and two other teens were treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Stoner faces charges for operating without a license, failing to keep right, and speeding. Additional charges are pending. The crash occurred in wet, foggy conditions. other injured include Gary Elias Zimmerman and Lawrence Bentz Lutz. Funeral arrangements for Nelen Lawrence are pending.
