Eight Point Plan To Speed A Power Age
Washington December 1 U P Chairman Lewis Strauss of the Atomic Energy Commission unveiled an eight point plan to accelerate the atomic power age. He urged a larger public and private program to build nuclear plants for electricity and said results of recent years are only a fraction of the bright prospects for nuclear power development. He outlined a constructive objective to develop reactor technology across sizes and ensure economic competition with kilowatts produced. The plan calls for broad proposals, no fixed deadline, no size limits, priority for a large reactor using natural uranium with heavy water, and government action if private proposals stall.

Five Years In Jail For 37 Cent Robbery
In Rockville Maryland Sandy Spring Molman was sentenced to five years at the Maryland Penitentiary for a silent robbery. Clarence Pugh aged 41 was accused of taking 57 cents from a 14 year old boy and 7 5 cents from a 13 year old boy. He was tried only for the 37 cent theft. The jury deliberated briefly before convicting him. Judge Kathryn Lawlor imposed the sentence.

Pugh Arrested Amid Montgomery County Robbery Testimony
Blair Haigh School students testified that Pugh approached them near the Silver Spring railroad yard with a hand in his pocket as if holding a gun. They were forced to drop money, police later pointed out the suspect, who denied the theft. One arrest noted for Charles Dorsey in Winchester.
