A deep cold wave drops temperatures to record lows across the region with winds up to 40 mph. Snow and ice cause vehicles to be stranded, roads remain partly blocked, and homeowners dig out after a heavy overnight storm.
Col and Mrs Charles A Lindbergh report their monoplane is crossing swamps of the Orinoco toward Trinidad after seven hours aloft. The couple reached Pan American Airways at Port of Spain and planned the next leg toward the Romeward tour with a route across Venezuela. A separate notice states the 2 acre McClain farm near Market was sold at a mortgage sale for $6 025.
County commissioners and the Board of Education reviewed a 340 168 60 budget for 1934 covering white elementary and high school teachers pay transportation and maintenance. The plan includes 66 700 for school transport by 73 buses and 36 700 for maintenance with additions for repairs and a new supervisor cat.

A dawn shootout near Baltimore involved a father and his five sons defending a filling station on the Old Annapolis road from five robber bands. 20 to 40 shots were fired as the attackers fled after their car became stuck in mud and snow. One defender, George Wagme, was injured. police later seized the scene and pursued suspects.
