Harrisburg Pa Jan 12 1931 Governor Fisher set January 12 for the execution of W Glen Dague and Irene Schroeder in the electric chair at Hockview Pa for the slaying of Corporal Strady Paul of the state motor patrol near New Castle on December 27 1929 The pair planned to seek a pardon or commutation at the February pardon board meeting.
A bank cashier at the Bank of Ay was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound following a run on the bank. The bank’s May report listed resources of 282,074.22 and deposits of 123,500.75.
