Lonton December 11 The Campbell divorce trial resumes with Gen Butler’s lawyer denying impropriety by Gen Butler toward Lady Colin Campbell. He notes a single visit on April 13 and denounces defense witnesses as perjury. Dr Bird’s counsel defends him against adultery and miscarriage charges as slanderous and based on weak testimony.
In St Louis, Robert Cray er, colored, was hanged at 6 55 yesterday morning in the jail yard after the death warrant was read at 5. Grayer spoke kindly before the cap was pulled. He murdered Berry Evans on July 6, 1883. A crowd of about 150 watched the execution. Cars Overturned and Burned near Neenah. two burned cars and injuries reported. A Wisconsin Central train ran late after a wreck on a down grade near Neenah, several injured and two badly scorched. Stage Robbery in Texas near Coronado. driver bound, robber fled with valuables, pursued and captured. Street car accident on Walnut Hill. a cable car ran backward down Gilbert avenue hill, no serious injuries, car ruined.
In Cruces New Mexico on Friday two young Mexicans from La Messilla quarrelled over a girl. Hector Garcia fought Cesario Fresques who then lassoed Garcia from horseback, dragging him about a mile. Garcia died from injuries yesterday.
