Nurse convicted of battering elderly patient in Maryland
Velda Hart a 46 year old licensed practical nurse at Harbour Inn Convalescent Center was found guilty of abusing an 83 year old dementia patient in a wheelchair. District Court Judge Timothy Doory sentenced Hart to two years probation and 80 hours community service. Witnesses testified Hart struck the patient on the back of the head and face prompting authorities to act.
