Germantown tract hints old village near Thurmont site

The discovery centers on a Germantown tract near Great Hunting Creek around 1746 to 1772 with a possible village near Hessong Bridge Road. Deed K-207 (1765) shows 35 acres on the south side of a branch entering the creek, tied to Leonard Moser and wife Sarah who deeded land back to surveyor Thomas Brooke. The land aligns with a high ground south of Hunting Creek near Eicholtz Mill and part of Uriah Warrenfeltz’s Lake Titus area, suggesting an abandoned field on the farm’s western portion midway southwest of Hunting Creek.
