Thurmont woman dies from three car crash injuries
A Thurmont woman Catherine Anna Simmers, 64, died Saturday from injuries sustained in a December 1 three car crash on Roddy Creek Road north of Thurmont. She died at Frederick Memorial Hospital at 6:45 p.m. after being hospitalized. Police report indicates Simmers pulled from a center crossover lane into the slow lane and was struck by Sharon Joan Stabinaki 38 of Allentown Pa. A 1980s GMC Jimmy driven by Larry Carl Whitaker 44 of Taneytown struck both Simmers and Stabinaki as they swerved.
