New probe planned of lake where Nazi gold rumored hidden
Austrian and West German researchers plan an early next year mission to Lake Toplitz to probe reports of hidden Nazi gold and underwater bunkers. Investigators seek to verify boobytrapped chambers and possible documents or valuables sunk with the late war, amid revived interest in the lake’s remoteness and wartime relics.
