Areas Affected By Dam Project Across Potomac River
Army Engineers outlined impacts of a high dam at River Bend on Potomac floods in Frederick and Montgomery counties and Loudoun County Virginia. PEPCO would not be affected due to prior design. White's Ferry area and Camp Kanawha would flood, with compensation discussed. Point of Rocks would flood to 1936 levels, Brunswick largely spared, and 35 miles of the C and O Canal would submerge, mostly undeveloped sections. The canal recreation area would be unaffected.
