In a North East game, the player faced a difficult slam after West opened clubs. A low spade from dummy forced the opponents to give a trick, and a 3-2 break in spades and diamonds left the contract in doubt yet the slam was ultimately achieved. The lead and card play shaped the outcome.
Minor traffic cases heard in Magistrate Byron W. Thompson court. Charles H he of near Myersiie and Richard Lee Rippeon of Patrick street faced reckless driving charges from a November 27 accident.
