Lions Club luncheon featured W G Wyser of Southern States Cooperative arguing farm cooperatives defend farmers rights. He cited 60 percent of US farmers in coops, 3.5 billion dollars in yearly business, and explained they pay taxes but not federal income tax due to non profit status. He warned against propaganda equating cooperatives with a threat to free enterprise.
