Intly Elected on Bench Wear New Windsor. Two fires occurred on the same property at Amber Court near the Excused Farm within four hours. Authorities investigated the blazes and noted the timeframe ending January 5. No injuries reported.

Chicago reports a powerful bomb hidden in a harmless looking package killed Tony Mas a bondsman and presumed millionaire newsboy. The blast shattered his apartment and injured another man who opened the package thinking it a birthday gift. Mas died in a hospital after the explosion occurred on December 6.
