Maryland Road Plan Aids Frederick County Route
The Maryland Geological Survey Highway Division plans to prepare road plans for a one mile New Market to Monrovia segment under the State Aid Road Law. The cost is likely 5000 dollars with half paid by the State. Surveys may start in winter if possible, otherwise in spring. Bids may be rejected and work done by the county. the State covers half the cost. A 10 ton steam roller is urged for purchase to aid bidding and road building. Frederick County has a large State allotment to spend on several miles annually, supporting first class roads and lower future maintenance costs. The Choral Society hosts a concert tonight with Mrs. Eyster and Mendelssohn's Hear My Prayer, at 8.00 pm, urging prompt attendance.
