Weekend wind storm collapses buildings in Frederick County
Strong winds Saturday gusting to 48 to 60 mph caused trees to fall and at least two Frederick County buildings to collapse. Construction site owner Robert B. Ogle, 52, was trapped when the two floors and roof of a Thurmont house under construction collapsed on him. He was rescued after 15 minutes, treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital and released. The incident occurred at Albert Staub Road, with rescue led by Thurmont Volunteer Fire Company. The wind chill dipped to minus five degrees as debris cleanup continued Monday.

Dozens arrested in Frederick Co raid on farmhouse operation
A dozen people were arrested after a 5:15 p.m. raid on 4240 Jefferson Pike. Officers seized about two pounds of marijuana, 33 marijuana seedlings, eight doses of LSD and PCP, drug paraphernalia, a Phototron, a stolen motorcycle, a truck and a Ford Bronco, plus four rifles. Investigators said the farmhouse was a large marijuana operation supplying the Brunswick area, with years of drug activity and significant traffic. The raid involved about 16 officers from multiple agencies and one SWAT member was bitten by a dog. Names and charges included Donald Anthony Hildebrand, Lisa Bailey, Keith Murray, Kelly Bender, Michael Jordon, Bonnie Hildebrand, and Richard McDonald.
