Frederick County Father Suspended Sentence For Truancy

A Frederick County father received a 60 day jail sentence suspended after Magistrate Wilbur Sheffield found his 15 year old daughter had missed 50 of 62 school days. Pupil personnel supervisor Paul E. Fogle testified the girl had been frequently absent and seen in town during school hours. The magistrate warned of further charges if absences continued and noted the daughter’s need for education.
