Legislators Challenge Smoking Ban Enforcement in Maryland

Frederick County Farm Bureau Women named state’s top group

Ocean City reports the Frederick County Farm Bureau Women's Committee won the state’s most outstanding Farm Bureau women’s group award at the 80th Maryland Farm Bureau Convention. Chair Shirley Zimmerman accepted for the county group, noting a second consecutive win. The busy year included Farm City Week, classroom agriculture projects, a farm queen contest, a safety camp, and three scholarships. The group also donated 500 to the Farm Women of Ukraine and will pass leadership to Louise Stup of Walkersville.

Locust Grove plan would double Union Bridge growth

Union Bridge planners approved Locust Grove a 130.1 acre concept project to add 265 single family homes and 52 townhouses. Land owner Dr G Jackson Phillips Sr says the plan aims to do it right while preserving a historic home and barn. Civil engineer David Thaler led the layout design for the proposal.

All Patrick lanes reopen to traffic after construction
