A snow bound wreck of the steamer Lunenburg near Amherst harbor leaves six crew dead and one survivor. Among the victims is R J Leslie member of the Canadian parliament and part owner of the vessel. The ship bound from Pixtou to Magdalen Island ports with mails and freight, struck during a northeast blizzard and is a total loss. Captain Pride survived after boats and lifeboats failed to reach shore and fishermen aided the wrecked crew. The vessel and cargo valued at about 5000 was total wreck.
