A snow bound wreck of the steamer Lunenburg near Amherst harbor leaves six crew dead and one survivor. Among the victims is R J Leslie member of the Canadian parliament and part owner of the vessel. The ship bound from Pixtou to Magdalen Island ports with mails and freight, struck during a northeast blizzard and is a total loss. Captain Pride survived after boats and lifeboats failed to reach shore and fishermen aided the wrecked crew. The vessel and cargo valued at about 5000 was total wreck.
Philadelphia December 6 The Pennsylvania Railroad will discontinue all forms of free transportation after the current year amid broader rail industry pressure and potential legislative action. In Wisconsin and Michigan twenty six hunters killed this year by accidents totaling 28 across both states. many accidental shootings occurred as hunters misidentified targets during the season.

Miss Hildegarde McKenna, soon to wed John Leggett Pultz of New York, is the youngest daughter of Justice and Mrs MecKenus of Washington. Another daughter, Miss Marie, is engaged to Davenport Brown of Kosten, and a double wedding seems possible. Goetic girls are Catholics while Pultz and Brown are Protestants.

Eldredge testified to payments including 1500 to Philadelphia lawyer Julie McDonald who helped organize policyholders to demand Burnham’s removal. Other items cited include excessive fees to Hoffecker, a 1899 Iowa Town examiner bill dodged by withdrawing business, and Missouri licensing efforts with a large fee to attorney Phelps.
