Maryland Tract Club Warns on Backroads and Highways
At the Merryland Tract Homemakers meeting Trooper Forsythe urged careful driving on county roads state highways and expressways outlining hazards and safe following distances. He warned against overdriving headlights and advised regular rests on long trips. The gathering included devotions, Thanksgiving readings, dress reports and plans for Christmas activities and charity gifts. A separate note mentions a British industrialist offering a 14000 prize to propel over a mile-long figure eight course with 10 feet clearance, backed by the Royal Aeronautical Society.
