City delays action on public works plan in Frederick
Frederick mayor and aldermen tabled a vote on reorganizing the public works department until employee representatives participate in discussions. The plan aims to shift from a task oriented to a function oriented structure, with projected savings over 500000 and no job losses. A consultant and a workshop option were discussed to address employee concerns while continuing budget preparation and a 1998 250th anniversary observance.
