Thanksgiving Turkey Hunt and Arctic Bird Watch Across Massachusetts
In western Massachusetts we seek a wild turkey near Quabbin where a 1960 reintroduction occurred amid winter birds. We hike the woods, spot a flock of fifteen gobblers, then travel to Rockport and Plum Island for King Eider sightings and other seabird notes, trading sightings with fellow birders before returning home.

Albert the alligator stars in Denver park winter plan
COLORADO SPRINGS AP Albert the alligator escaped last summer and spent 28 days with ducks at a Denver park. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo keeps Albert upstairs for winter, banishes Fred the otter to the basement, and refurbishes an otter tank into a tropical haven to boost attendance. Zoo curator Bill Aragon says alligators are not social and Albert should be fine with company or without it.
