Talbot County Smoking Ban Drives Record Campaign Spending
In Easton Maryland officials report Talbot County's smoking referendum drew about 96 000 to defeat it with four to one external funding. The ban passed by 386 votes on November 8 restricting smoking in most public spaces except select venues. Local support totaled roughly 1 400 from Easton doctors. Major donors included the American Lung Association and the American Cancer Society.
