Conviction For Robbery Ruled Valid
Judge James H. Pugh dismissed a petition for relief by Charles G. Young 26, after a Baltimore County robbery conviction. Young remains jailed in Maryland House of Correction for receiving stolen goods tied to the Baltimore County case, while a Frederick County robbery sentence continues. The petition argued illegal evidence from a police search and a radio taken from Young’s apartment, but the court found no basis to overturn the conviction. A written opinion of the reasons will follow. Also noted: a Coast Guard recruit from Woodsboro completed basic training in Cape May, detailing eight weeks of drills, small-boat handling, firearms, and maritime law enforcement training.
