Gorbachev denies plan for space SDI system

In an NBC interview Gorbachev said the Soviet Union will not build or deploy a space based SDI. He argued the Kremlin favors limiting nuclear weapons and suggested steps to meet the US position halfway while neglecting Star Wars negotiations. Frederick family donates 200 acres to environmental trust

Peter Pearce of Frederick County becomes the county's sole donor this year to the Maryland Environmental Trust, gifting 200 acres of farmland in a legacy alongside his parents 260 acre and nearby preserved lands. Damask mail carries obscene ad for adults only

William Browning, 73, and other Damascus residents reported receiving a disturbing “For Adults Only” pink card with a sexual invitation and $5 first minute charge. New bulk mail policy questioned in Frederick county shift

Former Big Brother gets 25 year term

Harrington a former Big Brother of the Year confessed to six counts of sexual child abuse and was sentenced to 25 years in prison under a plea deal. The 43 year old German Jew, former principal at Hebrew Academy of Greater Washington in Silver Spring, must serve 25 years with five years probation and undergo ongoing treatment for his sexual attraction to adolescent boys. He is banned from contact with anyone 16 or younger except under supervision and will be evaluated for further treatment at state facilities.
