The Republican Board of County Commissioners announced a reshuffle for a new four year term. Raymond A. Haugh was appointed county constable to succeed Paul B. Rhoads. A. Grant Cooper was named president and Samuel Young vice president. Other staff changes include Helen Remsburg as chief clerk and Patricia Wedle as assistant clerk. Santa Claus Snowballed By Teenagers In Pekin Parade
In Pekin Illinois about 20 000 population Santa Claus riding in a red jeep led a pre Christmas parade when around 40 junior high age youths began throwing snowballs at participants. Police were unable to stop the attack and adults intervened as children watched upset by the assault on St Nick. Emmitsburg reports former Mt. St. Marys College coach and director of athletics Arthur H. Malloy died at his home at age 58 will be 59 in February. A Wilmington native, he starred in football basketball and baseball before a long career at Mt. St. Marys and Salesianum School. Survivors include his widow and sister Miss Sarah Malloy. Driver Pleads Guilty After Route 40 Crash
A Newmarket man Bernard G. Kingan pleaded guilty to drunken driving after running two tractor trailers and a gasoline tanker off Route 40 and colliding with a trailer. He was jailed 30 days in default of a $150.75 fine and costs. Another Brunswick man, Bernard C. Orndorff, paid $10.75 after a traffic violation hearing for passing when not clear. Auto Collision Causes 150 In Damages On East Patrick
Estimated damages of 150 were caused by autos belonging to Donald L. Wickham and James Randolph Harmon in a rear end collision on East Patrick street near the Square Corner at about 9 25 p m Thursday Officer Sherman Boone reported Harmon failed to pump his brakes in time and struck the Wickham car no charges were preferred.
