Powder blast kills thirty at Dupont plant
In Wilmington Delaware eighty thousand pounds of black powder exploded in a packing house at the Dupont plant. Thirty workers, mostly young men, were killed and seven injured. The blast left a crater and scattered body parts over a wide area. One foreman identified among the dead was A Men A Thaxter of Portland Maine. Investigators cited a mystery cause amid rumors of possible outside involvement following threatening posters.
