Frederick County Litter Task Force Could Shift to Law Enforcement
County commissioners and residents push a litter task force to curb disposal. Litter from vehicles carries up to 250 dollar fines and up to 30 days in jail under criminal or motor vehicle laws. Sheriff and state police may enforce, with owners cited if offenders are absent. Local officials worry about enforcement effectiveness and the burden on limited personnel.
