Population growth and large families noted in 1950s
Experts in the Tin a reau cite larger families as a main driver of the era's population surge. The projected 1955 total of under 150 million was surpassed earlier, reaching 168 million and rising. A return to the classic American practice of big families is seen as shaping the nation's future, alongside advances in science. The Prospect 4H Club hosted members, mothers, homemakers, and Miss Lovington at the Aug 13 meeting, with demonstrations on woolen clothing and club activities.
